Crop Image

Cut a rectangle from an image. Use a free box or lock 1:1, 4:5, 16:9, and other ratios.

Processing happens in your browser and ImageToolMage does not upload the image to our server. Browser extensions, the clipboard, and screen capture can still expose a file on your device.

Choose one file with the file picker, or drop it on the box. This is not drag-only.

Drop one image here. The file picker above is the keyboard-accessible path.

Ratio presets

Choose an image, then set a crop rectangle.

How it works

The crop rectangle is applied in image-pixel space, then drawn to a canvas the size of that rectangle.

Input and output

Input is one image. Output is a new image containing only the selected rectangle.

Examples

Square avatar

Lock 1:1 and move the box over a face or logo.

Widescreen banner

Lock 16:9 and trim a landscape photo.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose an image.
  2. Drag the crop box or enter pixel coordinates. Lock a ratio if you need a preset.
  3. Download the cropped file.

Limitations

  • Arbitrary rotate-while-cropping (for example 3°) is not launched.
  • Output format follows the same-format-family rule and may re-encode JPEG.
  • The crop box cannot extend outside the image.

Questions

Does crop change resolution outside the box?

No. The output is the selected pixel rectangle. It does not upscale the crop unless you then use the resizer.

Can I crop a circle?

No. Launch crop is rectangular only. A circle export would force transparency and a different product.
